SCREENSHOT GUIDES

How do you pin a screenshot on Mac?

Keep a reference close: save a screenshot, pin its SnipPop bubble, then unpin or close it when finished.

Receive the screenshot first

Launch SnipPop and check the screenshot folder and access prompts in Source Folder settings. Capture with ⇧⌘4 and save to a folder; clipboard-only captures do not create a bubble automatically. Drag an existing PNG or JPEG into the app if needed.

Pin the bubble to keep it in place

Click the pin on the screenshot bubble. A pinned bubble does not dismiss after five idle minutes, and its position is locked. Use it while checking a reference in another app. Unpin it before moving it.

Fourteen bubbles, not a permanent archive

Images and recording bubbles share a fourteen-bubble limit, including pinned ones. Pinning controls the current bubble, not file storage. Save or export unsaved web captures and edits before closing a bubble or quitting the app.

Close it when finished

Unpinning restores the normal dismissal rules. Closing a bubble does not delete its saved original. To keep all bubbles until you close them, turn off Dismiss After 5 Minutes Idle in General settings. This is separate from pinning one image.
